Saying Yes When Life Gets Overwhelming

It’s easy to get excited about joining God in His mission when everything’s going great: doors are wide open, the path (plan) is clear, and you can see the results.

But what about when life’s a mess?
When you’re wiped out,
When you’re not sure what’s going on…
And when you’re the one who needs a pick-me-up?

That’s when we need to ask ourselves a deeper question:
“Is He worthy?”

When the Mission Gets Hard

Recently, a missionary shared their honest story of struggling, to keep going, when the mission got difficult. During that season, he recalled what an elder shared with him when he asked, “How do you keep persevering when it’s so hard?”
The elder’s response? Just three words:

“Is He worthy?”

Not a long explanation. No deep theology. Just a reframing of the mission itself.

We don’t say yes to God because it’s easy.
We say yes because Jesus is worthy, always.

Your Yes Is a Testimony

Whether you’re a missionary across the world, a mom holding it together at home, a business owner trying to live with integrity, or someone showing up online to share hope in digital spaces, your “yes” matters.

Every time you choose love over anger, speak truth even when it’s easier to stay quiet, or push through challenges–that’s worship.

It’s not about displaying your strength, but declaring His worth.

Reframe the Question

When the mission gets uncertain, we often ask:

• “Why is this so hard?”
• “Am I really making a difference?”
• “Should I just quit?”

Those are honest questions, but they might not be the best ones.
Try this instead:
“Is Jesus still worthy of my obedience today?”
(Yes. Every time.)

A Prayer to Carry With You

Jesus, when I feel weak or unsure, remind me today that You are still worthy.
Help me say “yes” even when it’s hard, because You said “yes” to the cross for me. Strengthen me in the mission You’ve given today, and let my life reflect Your worth. Amen.

Your faithfulness in tough times is making a statement. When you feel like throwing in the towel, just ask yourself again:

“Is He worthy?”
