From Darkness to Light: How This Ministry is Combatting Veteran Suicide

transformation_veterans

Did you know that every day 22 of our Nation’s veteran lose their life to suicide? The return back to civilian life can be hard for our combat veterans. It’s a complex issue and epidemic facing the brave men and women who served our country.

Thankfully, there is a ministry making a big impact and preventing soldier suicide. Lives are being saved physically and spiritually.

There are over 45,000 non-profits dedicated to serving our veterans. What makes Wild Ops so different?

Wild Ops takes combat veterans on a 7-day trip into the wild where they experience brotherhood again.  Their mantra is “no preaching, teaching or fixing” allowed on these trips. So how is the good news of the gospel shared? How are so many men finding freedom in their life?

Through the power of sharing personal testimonies!

“Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.”

Luke 8:39

Wild Ops is run by combat veterans who have experienced the freedom of Jesus in their lives, but understand and empathize with those who experienced the darkness of war. Each night around the campfire, men open up and share more deeply than ever before. There is an atmosphere of grace and understanding fostered on these wild adventures, ultimately leading to the salvation of many who go on a Wild Op trip.

It’s remarkable to see the life transformation that can happen on a 7-day Wild Op!

These men go from hardened, depressed, and suicidal to free in Christ!
